Johan Akerblom, the manager and chairman of the board at “Citadele” bank, has tendered his resignation to the bank’s board citing personal reasons, as stated by the bank in a media release.
In his communication to the board, Akerblom expressed gratitude for the six years he spent at “Citadel”.
“While it’s a difficult decision, I’ve chosen to step down due to personal reasons. I am confident that “Citadel” will continue its trajectory of success under new leadership and capitalize on growth opportunities,” Akerblom remarked.
The board, acknowledging and respecting Johan Akerblom’s decision, has acknowledged his significant contribution to the advancement of “Citadele” bank.
“We fully understand Johan’s decision to resign, and the bank will promptly initiate the search for a suitable successor. Meanwhile, Johan will continue to fulfill his responsibilities as the head of the bank,” noted Aiga Volksone, head of the bank’s Marketing and Corporate Communication Department.
To ensure a seamless transition, “Citadele” will immediately commence the process of finding a new manager.
Akerblom assumed the role of chairman of the bank’s board in March 2020, succeeding Guntis Beļavskis, who opted to pursue opportunities in the business sector. Prior to this position, Akerblom served as the bank’s CFO.
