Luxury Communications Agency Luchford Secures Global PR Partnership for £1bn Whiteleys Redevelopment
Luchford, the esteemed luxury communications agency, has been selected as the global PR partner for The Whiteley, a remarkable £1 billion project involving the redevelopment of the iconic Grade II-listed Whiteleys shopping centre in London. Luchford was directly approached by their new client and has taken over from the previous design specialist, Camron comms group.
Operating under a retained contract, Luchford will spearhead the account, led by agency founder Kelly Luchford. The team dedicated to The Whiteley account includes Olivia Rutland, the associate director overseeing Luchford’s property division, and Sorcha Regan-Capes, the account director. The agency’s responsibilities encompass placemaking, architecture, design, and luxury lifestyle communications.
The Whiteley venture is a joint effort between property investment firm MARK and Hong Kong developer C C Land, with the esteemed luxury homes specialist Finchatton serving as the development manager. Situated within the preserved Grade II-listed façade of the former department store, The Whiteley will feature 139 residential apartments and townhouses, a new luxury hotel and spa, as well as 19 businesses comprising restaurants, a cinema, and a gym.
Alex Michelin, co-founder of Finchatton, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating that Luchford’s established reputation and ability to deliver the quality global coverage befitting The Whiteley made them an ideal choice. Kelly Luchford also expressed her enthusiasm, highlighting the agency’s booming property division and the exceptional nature of The Whiteley development. She emphasized the agency’s excitement to collaborate with Alex Michelin and his team as they meticulously restore this renowned landmark.
Luchford specializes in various sectors, including property, travel, restaurants and drinks, escapes and wellbeing, and international design. Their notable achievements include being appointed as the PR agency for The Dorchester last year, and recently bolstering their team with the additions of Olivia Rutland as associate director and Kate Ardron as director of travel in April of this year.
