Just Eat has announced the appointment of Claire Pointon, former customer director at John Lewis, as the new managing director for the UK and Ireland. With her extensive experience in customer strategy, brand innovation, and marketing spanning over two decades, Pointon’s recent role involved leading the digital and in-store customer function at the renowned department store retailer.
Before her tenure at John Lewis, which began in 2020, Pointon held prominent positions at various companies including Dixons Carphone, Carphone Warehouse, Deutsche Telekom, and Kerry Foods.
Pointon will be succeeding Andrew Kenny, who joined Just Eat as chief commercial officer and served on the company’s board. The transition marks a significant moment for Just Eat as it continues to make strides in the rapidly growing food delivery industry.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Pointon said, “I’m thrilled to be joining Just Eat at such an exciting juncture for the business. Online food delivery is increasingly becoming an integral part of our daily lives, with more customers than ever seeking convenience and choice online.”
Pointing out the team’s dedication to leading the industry and serving customers and partners, she looks forward to spearheading the next phase of Just Eat’s journey in the UK and Ireland.
In other news, Just Eat recently forged a partnership with Iceland, a frozen food specialist. The collaboration commenced in April, with over 200 of Iceland’s stores offering more than 5,000 products to customers in cities such as London, Manchester, Belfast, and Leeds. This expansion further solidifies Just Eat’s presence and commitment to meeting the diverse needs of its customers.
