Foot Locker unveiled a new retail concept on Wednesday at its location in Willowbrook Mall, Wayne, New Jersey. The revamped store design features a sleek, modern layout that encourages exploration and interaction. Bright, engaging displays near the entrance highlight the latest sneaker drops and trending items, while immersive storytelling throughout the store emphasizes collaborations with Foot Locker’s brand partners, enhancing the presentation and understanding of their products.
The store also includes a communal try-on area, designed to build community among shoppers and immerse them in sneaker culture. Central to the store is the Sneaker Hub, where customers can enjoy specialized services like custom lacing, a wide range of ordering options, and personalized experiences aimed at deepening customer engagement. Additionally, Foot Locker has integrated advanced technology to provide staff with real-time access to omnichannel inventory, ensuring a variety of fulfillment options for customers.
“Our new store concept reinforces Foot Locker’s leadership in sneaker culture, offering a state-of-the-art shopping environment that excites sneaker enthusiasts,” stated Mary Dillon, president and CEO of Foot Locker, Inc.
“This launch is a key part of our Lace Up Plan, enhancing our portfolio and delivering a customer-centric, omni-focused shopping experience,” Dillon added.
The debut of this concept at Willowbrook Mall is the start of a worldwide expansion, with plans to open more stores in 2024, including a flagship location on 34th Street in New York City. The rollout will also see a new format for Kids Foot Locker.
This initiative is part of Foot Locker’s strategy, introduced in March 2023, to optimize its retail space. The company is also refreshing numerous stores globally, with the aim to update two-thirds of all Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker locations by the end of 2025, maintaining a consistent and upscale brand experience.
“After nearly 50 years, Foot Locker remains a pivotal player in the global sneaker scene,” said Frank Bracken, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Foot Locker, Inc.
“With ongoing momentum, we’re excited to introduce our refreshed store design worldwide, inspiring customers to discover top brands and explore their passion for sneakers, supported by our dedicated Stripers.”
