PayPal Appoints Geoff Seeley As Its Chief Marketing Officer

PayPal has recently made a significant move in strengthening its leadership team by welcoming Geoff Seeley as the new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Under the supervision of Diego Scotti, Executive Vice President (EVP) and General Manager (GM) of Consumer Group and Global Marketing & Communications, Seeley is set to play a crucial role.

As a leading company in the FinTech sector, PayPal is renowned for its pioneering financial services and digital payment solutions that cater to millions of users and businesses globally. Its diverse product lineup, which includes the widely-used peer-to-peer payment service Venmo, underscores PayPal’s commitment to making payments simpler, more engaging, and secure for its users.

Geoff Seeley, stepping into the CMO role, brings more than two decades of expertise in managing global brands, digital marketing, and performance marketing. At PayPal, his responsibilities will include leading the Global Marketing team and ensuring that the core messages of PayPal and Venmo reach their audience effectively. He aims to infuse new vigor into these brands, leveraging PayPal’s legacy of innovation and its comprehensive suite of products. Before his appointment at PayPal, Seeley was the Global CMO and Communications Officer at AfterPay, and he also played a key role in marketing at CashApp, proving his skill in evolving marketing strategies and brand development across major international corporations.

His career highlights include a significant period at Airbnb, where he contributed to the Homes business by overseeing various marketing aspects, from local brand marketing to global media and partnerships. Additionally, his tenure as Global Communications Planning Director at Unilever marked him as a visionary in transforming marketing approaches for well-established brands, using innovative marketing techniques and technology to enhance customer experiences.
