Omnicom Media Group’s (OMG)-owned creative and advertising agency, OMD UK, has announced the promotion of Suzy Ryder, the current Chief Digital Officer, to the position of CEO.

Assuming her new role immediately, Ryder will become a part of the OMG UK board, reporting to her predecessor, Laura Fenton, who recently took on the role of CEO of OMG UK.

As the newly appointed CEO, Ryder, who has been with OMD UK since 2021, will be tasked with leading the agency. Her responsibilities include overseeing the ongoing development and future growth of client partnerships, commercial operations, product, talent, and culture.

Laura Fenton praised Ryder’s contributions, stating, “As the Chief Digital Officer of OMD UK, Suzy has played a key role in developing the vision, operational excellence, and empowered and diverse culture that have seen the agency go from strength to strength in recent years.”

During her tenure as Chief Digital Officer, Ryder played a crucial role in helping clients expand and enhance their use of media, data, and technology to achieve improved business outcomes. This was reflected in the agency’s highest-ever client satisfaction scores and the extension of multiple key contracts.

Ryder was also instrumental in leading the global partnership with Barclays and played a significant role in OMD’s recent business successes, securing contracts with entities such as Compare the Market and British Gas.

Commenting on her new role, Ryder stated, “In my role as CEO, my priority will be to ensure we continue to drive business critical success for our clients, through a future-focused, ongoing dedication to the development of our people, our process and our product.”

CEO of OMD EMEA, Blake Cuthbert, expressed confidence in Ryder’s ability to lead OMD UK into the future, citing her digital-first mindset and proven vision, creativity, and strategic thinking in delivering transformations for key clients. Cuthbert highlighted Ryder’s deep connections across the wider group, making her an ideal candidate to drive OMG’s Agency as a Platform approach.
